Getting Started with Unreal Remote Control
This guide get's you started with using Remote Control for Virtual Production.
Step 1.
|Check Enabled Plugins
|
First make sure you have the following plugins enabled:
- Remote Control Web Interface
- Remote Control API
Step 2.
|Install NodeJS
|
Open PowerShell as an administrator and install nvm for Windows by right clicking PowerShell and choosing "Run as Administrator." This easily lets you install specific versions of NodeJS which is a prequisite for running web applications for Unreal. Type the following commands in PowerShell:
winget install CoreyButler.NVMforWindows
nvm install 14.15.5
nvm use 14.15.5
Step 3.

Still in PowerShell open port 3000 with the following command.
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="Unreal Remote 30000" dir=in action=allow protocol=TCP localport=30000
